Tim Berners-Lee was born in England in 1955. He is still alive
today. He is one of four children. His parents worked on computers. He
went to college in Oxford from 1973 to 1976. He created a computer out
of a tv.
What he did
Tim Berners lee invented the WORLD WIDE WEB. The web is a bunch of
pages
that link
to each other. All of these links form a web.
You can go anywhere on the web from any spot
Why he did it
He invented the web because he wanted it to be easier to find
pages. He wanted pages to link to each other.
Religion
He grew up Anglican but gave up religion as a teenager. Then when he
grew up and had kids he brought his kids to a UU church because he
wanted to teach his kids about spirituality.
Why is he a UU hero?
Because he made the web free to everyone. He fights to make sure
everyone can use it.
